The cartridges in this family use the 250, 251 and 255 numbers for black.  All colors are numbered 251 for both standard and XL.  The 255XXL cartridge is only Black (K) and used in certain printers.

NOTE:  This Canon Inktank cartridge does not get re-set at the end of the fill process.  Process this much like you would the Integrated Print Head (IPH) Canon cartridges.  (See Care Card)

All of these cartridges are filled using the Canon T-2 adapter

There is a PREP side to the adapter that will face toward you when in the Prep Station, and

FILL side that will face you when in the Fill Chamber.  Unlike other adapters this one does not

have a bar to hook into the station.  The two sides will still hook into the station.

Fill StepsThere are not too many steps to filling these cartridges.  If you already know how

to refill cartridges on the InkCenter™ you may just need to get used to this adapter.

Place the cartridge in the adapter in a similar fashion to other tank cartridge adapters you have used. (as pictures)  There is only one right way to place it in, just make sure it is centered.  Close the lid.
Drill the hole with the fill flap back, again in a similar fashion to other adapters that function this way.
Select the cartridge you are going to fill in the usual manner to log it into the PREP queue.

Select the ID Tag. And place it in the prep station.  Prep will begin.

CAUTION: To avoid damaging adapter during removal from PREP/FILL station, firmly grasp adapter base using 2 hands and gently roll out & remove.

After Prep move the cartridge to the Fill Chamber.  Select the ID Tag.  Place the injector in

the top of the adapter as usual with the fill flap down and close the door.

After the Fill process take out the adapter/cartridge assembly.  Cap the mouth of the cartridge and place a dot label over the drilled hole.  Package as usual. It would be a good idea to wipe the excess ink off of the seal on the adapter so as to not contaminate the next cartridges color.Again, do not try to reset the cartridge with the Canon re-setter that is plugged in your USB port.  Instead provide the customer with the correct care card instructions.
Seen here is an image of all three cartridge sizes with caps.  Note that the largest (the

255XXL) may need a rubber band around the cartridge and clip to hold it on securely.

There are two clip sizes and two different pads.  When capping one of these cartridges you

will need to place a pad into the clip before putting it on the cartridge.  See below.

Place cap on cartridge as shown in the picture.  Two teeth will clip on from the middle of the

cartridge and then the end will snap down.
